Why Did My Camera Take an Unexpected Photo After Config Changes?

If your controller is on APEX firmware, in rare instances, you may discover that your camera has taken an additional photo that does not seem to match with your settings on your installation’s Config page in Control Hub.

While this may seem cause for concern, it is an intended behavior designed to put your project first.

This uncommon situation occurs when Config setting changes are applied in the same timeframe they are relevant.

Example: the installation has Config settings saved to it which would mean it takes 10 photos per day. It is now halfway through the day, and the timing of the settings changes mean that it has only taken 4 photos. In this scenario, the controller tells the camera to take an additional photo to err on the side of caution.

In this rare situation, your controller has been designed to err on the side of caution and tell the camera to take an additional photo, with the rationale that it is better to take an extra, unneeded photo than miss a photo for your project.
