FAQ

Hardware questions.

No. The camera is solar-powered with onboard battery backup, so it doesn't draw from site power and doesn't need to be connected to any site infrastructure. No electrician, no cable run.
The camera connects over 4G LTE, so it needs no site Wi-Fi, no on-site network, and no IT setup. We confirm the SIM and data arrangement for your region when we scope the project. On sites where Wi-Fi is available and preferred, the camera can connect that way instead.
No. The camera arrives pre-configured and the only task on site is mounting it. Installation takes under an hour with no specialist knowledge or tools required. The team is available by phone on install day if you need a hand.
The camera runs on solar with battery backup sized to carry it through extended overcast conditions. The livestream and Pro systems add a large-capacity external battery pack in the mount for longer low-light stretches and higher-draw operation, so the power system holds up through overcast spells without intervention.
Both cameras run on solar power, connect over 4G, and feed the same platform. The Buildcam TL (Timelapse) is for sites that need a continuous visual record: scheduled capture, automatic storage, and full platform access. The Buildcam Pro adds a 4K livestream camera for sites that also need real-time monitoring.

The hardware

Built to be left alone on a construction site.

A construction camera has to survive the thing it is documenting. It sits out in the weather for the length of the project, often on a site with no spare power and no reliable network, and it has to keep capturing without anyone tending to it. That constraint shapes every Buildcam: solar powered so it does not depend on site electricity, cellular connected so it does not depend on site internet, and sealed against dust, rain, and sun so it keeps working through the seasons.

Installation is deliberately simple. The camera arrives configured, and the only job on site is mounting it and pointing it, which takes under an hour and no specialist. There is no cable run to arrange, no technician to book, and no IT setup to wait on, so documentation starts on day one rather than after a deployment project of its own.

The range covers different jobs. The Buildcam TL is the documentation-first timelapse camera, the LS is built for live viewing when real-time visibility is the priority, and the Pro combines both. All three run on the same power and connectivity approach and feed the same platform, so the choice is about what a given site needs to see, not about learning a different system.
